Fielded panelled double doors, with 4-pane overlight, on right return and 15-pane fixed window on left return, all in architraves. Moulded cornice and blocking course. 12-pane sash windows, except C20 small-paned casement on ground floor left. Roof hipped to left; 2 stepped-and-corniced ridge stacks and similar stack at left end. To right, projecting wing truncated 1956: 2-bay inner return shows C20 paired 6-pane casements with 4-pane sashes in architraves above. East (garden) front 3 + 3 bays. Left part has glazed door, in architrave with pediment, between right bays; at left a full-height canted bay with pyramidal roof. Eaves cornice broken forward around bay. Right part, slightly set back, has central glazed door in eared architrave with cornice. All windows renewed 12-pane sashes. Roof of each part hipped to right; stepped-and-corniced left end and 3 ridge stacks. Interior: Internal wall 0.95 metre thick, at rear of entrance hall. Right return shows 2 similar windows and eaves cornice on moulded corbels. Adjacent gate screen has 4 piers with chamfered plinths and corbelled-out pyramidal caps. Central double gates and flanking pedestrian gates have foliate tops to standards and dogbars. South wall has studded door with C19 floral ironwork in pointed chamfered arch with moulded imposts and hood; and priest's door with similar ironwork under shouldered chamfered arch. 5 lancets, that to east of south door a C19 copy. North wall shows 3 lancets, the westernmost C19. East end has triplet of C19 lancets under C13 pointed arch with hoodmould. Interior: C13 pillar piscina on south of sanctuary, aumbry with old wooden door further west; pointed recess, perhaps piscina, on north. North door similar to south, now opening into vestry. Chancel has Cl9 painted panelled ceiling with carved bosses. Sandstone. Stone with semi-circular head; on east face inscription to Elizabeth, wife to John Robinson of Knopesfold in the parish of Lanercost, reverse face has coat of arms with 3 stags, flanked by palm trees with stylised angel above and semi-circular pediment carried on pilasters.
