West tower probably C11; north arcade west respond early C12; church remodelled with 3-bay aisled nave and 2-bay Ogle chapel north of chancel in early C13; later medieval alterations included refenestration, raising of walls and lowering of roof pitch. Rewindowed late in C18 with sashes, most replaced in Gothic style in 1908 restoration when south porch rebuilt. Squared stone with cut dressings; low-pitched lead roofs. Tower on stepped and chamfered plinth, with later stepped buttress on south. Gothick west window with imposts and hoodmould, holding 16-pane sash with intersecting glazing bars. Single segment-headed light on west below belfry, and single-handed 1796 clockface on east. Broad trefoiled bell openings except for round-headed light on west. Embattled parapet. South porch with diagonal buttresses and double boarded doors under pointed arch with ogee hoodmould and finial. Within porch, double-chamfered south door has hoodmould with head stops. South aisle shows west lancet, 2-light east window with reticulated tracery, and two 1908 south windows above traces of blocked lancets and carved shield with Ogle arms. Single square-headed clerestorey window. North aisle has stepped diagonal north-west buttress, west lancet, and 3 early C20 north windows; traces of earlier openings beneath. Chancel has small stepped set-back east buttresses and similar buttress on south wall. 2 early C20 south windows with renewed priest's door between; earlier blocked opening between buttresses to east. 3-light east window. Ogle Chapel has larged stepped diagonal north-east buttress and early C20 windows. Monuments fixed to south walls include 2 small medieval slabs and C18 headstones. Interior: Tall round-headed tower arch of 2 orders with possibly later chamfers, the inner on chamfered imposts. Arcades of double-chamfered pointed arches with broach stops, on slender octagonal piers with moulded caps and bases. South arcade has hoodmould with head stops. Corbel responds, north-west above earlier half-drum with scallop cap. In south aisle: piscina, 4-centred tomb recess with C13 cross slab, rere-arches of 2 blocked lancets and stoup by door. Double-chamfered arch into Ogle Chapel. Pointed double-chamfered chancel arch on responds with nail-head; hoodmould to nave has dragonhead stop above line of former rood beam. Round, double-chamfered chancel arcade on central pier with large dog-tooth between filleted angle shafts with carved masks at top; moulded pier and respond caps with nail-head and cable moulding. To east of arcade large corbel with Ogle arms. South wall shows piscina, traces of sedilia and several blocked openings. Octagonal C15 font. Traces of wall paintings above nave arcades. In Ogle Chapel 3 floor slabs of 1564, 1566 and 1613, among the earliest armorial stones in the county. Painted benefaction slab of 1720 in north aisle. Royal arms of George III in south aisle. Wall monuments in Ogle Chapel include John Ogle d.1831 and Sara Ogle d.1846, both by E.W. Baily. Carved reredos of 1901; carved choirstalls; marble-tiled sanctuary. , 2013-01-29 1969-04-28

Central half-glazed door with patterned overlight, in C19 raised-and-chamfered stone surround, flanked by broad canted bays with moulded cornices and 12-pane sash windows in chamfered surrounds; 5 similar windows in C18 raised stone surrounds above. Coped gable with moulded kneelers on right; end stacks. To left is tower-house reduced in C18 to conform with facade. Traces of blocked ground floor window with sash in raised stone surround above; roof hipped to left. 3-bay left return of tower has 1st floor plate-glass sashes in C18 openings. Right return a 3-bay kitchen wing with 1st floor 4-pane sashes, and lower north wing to far right. Twin-gabled north elevation shows flush-panelled door, with 3-pane overlight, and various sash windows. Kitchen wing on left with two 12-pane sashes in C18 raised stone surrounds and coped gable with moulded kneelers; further sash windows in lower north wing. Interior: ground floor of tower contains 2 square chambers with parallel segmental vaults divided by cross-wall with chamfered doorway; southern chamber has 4-centred fireplace and mural stair with lintels on chamfered corbels. Main block has open-well open-string stair of c.1800 with stick balusters, ramped and moulded handrail, curtail step and carved newel. Various internal buttresses. North (roadside) wall has similar coping and ramp-downs. Wellhead near east end has round arch with hollow-chamfered hood on foliage-carved stops, enclosing recessed panel with Latin inscription in memory of Eustace Smith. Slab below, with decorative tooling, carried on half-round pilasters flanking bronze tap. Rectangular plan with south porch; west end is vestry, with nave/vestry division wall carrying C19 bellcote. C19 work in simple Perpendicular style. South elevation 5 bays, the 2nd with projecting porch; diagonal buttresses, boarded double doors in double-chamfered arch with small 2-light window over; coped gable with finial cross. Nave windows square-headed of 2 trefoil-headed lights, with lead-latticed glazing; between eastern bays a sundial dated 1737 with moulded cornice and base. Coped gables, the western with small corniced stack. Ridge bellcote has ogee-headed opening under gabled coping with trefoiled kneelers, and finial cross. Finial cross on east gable. East end shows C19 3-light window; north and west walls plain; 2 large stepped buttresses on north. Interior: Porch has stone benches, south door wave-moulded pointed arch. No nave/chancel division. Boarded dado; sill of east window lowered to form reredos. 6-bay roof of late C18/early C19: principal-rafter trusses with collars, braces and struts; tie-beams replaced by iron rods. One C18 hatchment. Carved C12 corbel built into north wall. Roman altar with later socket for cross shaft. Original house 2 storeys, 5 bays, symmetrical. Plinth; central panelled double doors and 12-pane sash windows, all in architraves. Gables with coping returned on deep footstones; stepped-and-corniced end stacks, that to left rebuilt. Slightly lower 2-storey extension to right has 3 renewed sashes in similar architraves on ground floor and 2 above; coped right gable with stepped-and-corniced end stack. Set back to right, tall screen wall with flat coping. Left return shows 12-pane sash in raised stone surround, on 1st floor. Rear elevation: central 16-pane sash stair window with Gothick glazing under pointed arch, in raised stone surround with imposts; to right early C20 canted bay. Ashlar with ashlar dressings and slate roof with raised gables and kneelers plus 2 brick gable stacks. Rusticated ground floor, moulded first and second floor bands, chamfered eaves and raised quoins. 3 storey, 3 window front. Ground floor has central passage entrance with to left an altered C19 shopfront, and to the right a pub front, c1900, with panelled pilasters, fascia board, glazed tiles and stained glass windows divided 3:1, with to the right a recessed 4-panel door. Above two 16-pane sashes with between an ornate iron pub sign and to the right a sign board, beyond to the left a plain sash. Above again three 16-pane sashes. Interior of the Free Trade Inn has an entrance passage with tongue and groove plank panelling and a series of 4-panel doors. Bar to right has similar panelling throughout with a side screen also plank panelled with glazed upper panels and dividing pilasters with moulded tops and ball finials, this screen is supported by curved iron braces. The bar itself is panelled with dividing fluted pilasters. 2 fitted wooden benches and a moulded fire surround. This building is listed because it retains a good Edwardian pub front and a remarkably well preserved pub interior. , 2013-08-19 1994-10-04

Single-storey barn has stable door and blocked doorway with inserted part-slatted window; both openings have triple-keyed lintels. To right, cart entrance with timber lintel. Left return shows slit vents and coped gable on kneelers. On far right 1 bay of 2-storey granary; stable door with part-slatted window over. South elevation of east arm of granary shows 2 similar windows above boarded door. Coped gables. Rear elevation of barn has 2 more doorways, one blocked, with triple-keyed lintels; wall to right with boarded door and 2 doorways in irregular block surrounds (one blocked) on right return linking to farmhouse.
