Elevation to road: central loose box with blocked segmental arch and hipped roof; 2-storey section with open-pedimented gable behind, flanked by yard walls with gabled coping and piers. Left yard enclosed by single-storey ranges to rear, with 2 segmental-headed arches, and to left, with boarded door flanked by small windows; mounting block on right. Right yard: range to rear 2 storeys, 5 bays. 2 segmental-headed arches, part-slatted windows above. The 5th bay and the range to the right of the yard were raised to 2 storeys in late C19; part-slatted windows on lst floor. End to road has pitching door with hoist above. Rear elevation: central block, former threshing barn, has large corniced ridge stack and segmental arch in left return. Circular paved area to right indicates site of gin-gang. C20 gabled stone porch with re-used early C19 half-glazed door; flanked by mid-C19 canted bay windows. Projecting left bay has 2 pointed-arched windows with intersecting glazing bars on right return. Very steeply-pitched roof, formerly thatched, with reverse-stepped gables. C19 end and ridge stacks on older bases. Cross-gabled section to right c.1830. Single storey, one bay with narrow angle pilaster strips and pointed-arched window with intersecting glazing bars in chamfered surround. Interior of older section has 2- and 6-panel doors. Staircase of c.1810 with slender turned balusters. 8-bay upper-cruck roof with ridge piece and one level of purlins. Date and Lady Waterford's monogram in the gable. Towards road 3 bays; left bay projecting at an angle with a 6-light canted bay window on the gable end; to right two 3-light mullioned and transomed windows. Gabled roof with ridged and roll-moulded coping, kneelers and ridge stack of 4 clustered shafts. Bands of purple and blue slate. To left screen wall and gatepiers. Right bay has segmental-arched gateway, left bay has vertical-panelled door with overlight in hollow-chamfered surround with hoodmould (jambs incised T /M ) 17/24 flanked by small-paned shop windows under ogee arcbes with hoodmoulds; right window has integral V.R. letterbox. 1st floor has 6-light window with king mullion and 2-light window to right, both with hoodmoulds. Chamfered string below moulded embattled parapet. Right return shows C19 external stair to boarded door in chamfered elliptical-arched surround (1753 incised on jamb); garderobe projection on right with chamfered loop. Rear (external) elevation shows similar gateway arch with hollow chamfer; small sash windows above with hollow-chamfered surrounds and hoodmoulds.
