Large 2-storey shelter sheds and granary to rear now obscured by C20 shed in front. 4th side of yard has square gatepiers with pyramidal caps and flanking walls c.8ft high; to left the forge. In centre of yard a small 2-storey turnip house with segmental arch on ground floor and clock above. Left-hand yard has similar gatepiers and wall on south side with former bothy attached to forge. Range to left is stables for riding horses. To right the rear of the cartsheds. Most of the rear range has been replaced by a C20 shed. In centre of yard a turnip house with dovecote above. Gabled roofs with flat copings and stone ridge pieces. Forge and bothy have small square brick chimneys. Stables have 2 louvred ventilators with pyramidal roofs. This ends in a very large, taller square, corniced pier with blocking course, antefixae and 4 square pyramidal caps. South elevation, to bailey: Gatehouse has double-chamfered arch; original 2-light window above with C15 transomed 2-light window with panel-traceried head on right, brought from Cockle Park Tower in 1830-31 restoration. 3- and 4-light transomed windows to 2nd floor, the latter a late C19 insertion. Small loops to right and in taller projecting stair turret on left. Wing to left 4 storeys, 3 bays; projecting embattled porch with moulded arch, 2- 3- and 4-light mullioned windows, some transomed. 2-storey extension on far left projects beyond line of curtain wall.
